Legendary Macau GP Features RAVENOL Partners15 November 2019 | Ravenol Marketing
This weekend, the entire motorsport world will focus its attention on one of the most spectacular motor racing events of the year: The Macau Grand Prix. The race meeting features races in numerous categories, including the FIA GT and the FIA F3 World Cups, the FIA WTCR, the Motorbike Grand Prix and many more. Among them are several RAVENOL partner drivers and teams, to whom we wish the very best of luck! It’s the already 66th edition of the prestigious race in Macau. The event, held in China’s Special Administrative Region, attracts both drivers, racing fanatics and celebrities. The 6.12-kilometre Guia Circuit – regarded as one of the most dangerous street circuits in the world – features 24 corners, sections with a with a width of just seven metres from crash barrier to crash barrier, as well as straights with a length of more than a kilometre and uphill sections.
RAVENOL partner Phoenix Racing will compete with a Audi R8 LMS GT3. It was 20 years ago in 1999, when the Meuspath based team competed in the Chinese special administrative region for the first time. This was also the squad’s founding year and the team immediately went on to celebrate a huge success: Michael Bartels in the Audi A4 quattro clinched victory in the urban canyons of Macau. This year Christopher Haase will be at the wheel of the Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3. The team has already scored a number of triumphs with the 33-year-old, the 2009 FIA GT3 European Championship title and the victory at the 2012 24 Hours at Nürburgring being just two of them. Haase has also driven for the team in the ADAC GT Masters and the VLN. Now they hope to continue their success story in Macau.
The F3 starting line-up also features one of the most famous names in the world of motor racing: SCHUMACHER. This time, it’s David Schumacher, son of the former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher and nephew of former F1 World Champion Michael Schumacher, who will be taking part. The 17 year old, who recently got his FIA Formula 3 debut when he replaced the injured Alex Peroni at Campos Racing for the series finale at Sochi, will drive for the Sauber Junior Team alongside Callum Ilott (GBR) and Enzo Fittipaldi (ITA).
One permanent name on the Macau GP roster is RAVENOL’s partner team Prema (F3 Champion) who have the following line-up this year: Marcus Armstrong (NZL), Robert Shvartzman (RUS) and Frederik Vesti (DNK). The successes Prema celebrated in the past and even more so the frequency and consistency of these successes, not only result from the top technology used in the team’s single-seaters but also from the ongoing drive for better performance and better results. RAVENOL fully adopted this maxim and makes for increased competitiveness by supplying the team with lubricants featuring the USVO® technology. In addition to our featured partners, RAVENOL also supports several other teams technically and has contact persons on site. The race action will be streamed live, inter alia, at the FIA website (details below) RAVENOL is one of the most dynamic and top performing brands for premium lubricants and related racing products in the world.
